Background of Our Projects

Pads Drive project

Due to lack of sanitary pads, many young women and girls in the World are unable to attend school during their menstrual period. This is because most of them cannot afford sanitary pads due to poverty and financial constraints. 7 million South African girls do not have access to or cannot buy sanitary pads.

The Pads Drive project started in June 2021 when Nadege Kakese, the Founder and CEO of USAFI Pad, perceived the idea to make a difference by educating and supplying unprivileged women and girls from low-income communities who are struggling to obtain sanitary pads during their menstrual periods.

The Pads drive project goal is to identify unprivileged young girls from low-income communities to provide them with sanitary pads, educate them on menstrual hygiene and select 300 girls that will be part of the one-year program that will supply pads on monthly basis. By doing so, USAFI Pad will prevent the practice of unprivileged girls missing school during their menstrual period.

To give young women access to sanitary pads in Africa.

Social Cause:

To provide Sanitary pads to underprivileged girls and educate young women and men on menstrual hygiene. This is done by identifying Schools in under privileged communities in hope to reduce the absenteeism caused by the lack of access to sanitary pads.

How is USAFI creating the change?

• By identifying under privileged girls from low-income communities and supply them with sanitary pads for their menstrual periods.

• Educating young women and men on menstrual hygiene.
